And with that improvement of status comes a lot of perks. For instance, in a campground it’s socially acceptable to stand outside in plaid pajama bottoms and t-shirt and fry bacon and eggs on a portable stove set up on a picnic table. It’s also okay to wash your dishes in a couple basins and toss the water around a nearby tree when you’re done. After all, you’re just adding the bread crumbs and bacon grease back into the earth where the plants and insects can organically recycle them. Try doing those things in a subdivision or neighborhood.
For example, just this weekend a stray border collie showed up, and since there’s always a dish full of dog food outside, she made herself right at home. Seems she likes us and has decided to stay for a while. Course as I just now look outside and see the two dogs sprawled out sleeping next to the pick-up truck, I can’t help to think, You Might Be a Redneck If…..
